SMILE COVERS ... For the first time, she cried
With humans, there's only one truth: what is hidden. If you feel cold, get a sweater, wear makeup if you have pimples, lipsticks to cover pale lips, flowers and concrete to cover a grave and forget - death. I saw her crossing the road, she was old but well over dressed to cover it up. She was walking towards me, I looked away scared that my eyes may betray my thoughts
00/00/0000 "On Monday, in school I remembered thinking about how thin our mistress was, and the bruise at the back of her arm to her smile which made me confused, why was she happy, she came to class sometimes with her face swollen and red, I knew she cried but she won't tell us. That Monday, I knew she saw me and knew what I was thinking, perhaps my eyes had portrayed pity...
My heart sank as the old woman moved nearer, I was holding an umbrella to protect me from the scorching sun like the old woman did with her red lipstick, skimpy gown and heels. She smiled, her eyes was teary but quite hard to notice. I streched a hand to her which she feebly held onto as we climbed up the stairs. We needed to talk, we both knew.
"Tell me, how have the years been for you ?"
& For the first time, she cried.
My mistress cried. I knew she always wanted to and perhaps so many people too.
