To a girl in Iran : Poetry | New law in Iran | Female rights | Religion and feminism.

Letter,
to Ishan,
a nine year old girl in Iran.

Dear Ishan, the law has changed and somehow, you're no more a girl. It's shocking that being a girl now differs in cities, villages and homes. You're still a girl. Ishan, I am a girl too no matter the law. To be -free -to be a girl lies within you. I wonder how I shall tell you that you are still a girl, that you'd always be but fight, Ishan. Fight.
