Raynaud syndrome - Medical Condition. Raynaud phenomenon (know how to cope and help others.)
The Raynaud's syndrome
Raynaud's is a type of disorder in which the blood vessels become narrow or constricted. These narrow blood vessels reduce blood flow to a part of the body (usually fingers and toes) leading to numbness, and the affected part becomes white, blue or red. Oftentimes it shows up in arthritis, rheumatoid patients and people exposed to consistent vibrations and dangerous chemicals. It mostly affects women and causes pain and skin ulcers. People with this syndrome should avoid:
Smoking: Smoking or inhaling smoke tightens blood vessels. ...
Stress. Patients should avoid stress and do more exercise to increase blood flow. ...
Cold or rapidly changing temperatures. Patients should avoid cold and regulate temperatures by using socks, gloves and other warm wears.
Vibrations: Excessive vibrations stress blood vessels.
Omega-3 found in fish oil has proven to be a good supplement that helps Raynaud's patients. Nevertheless it's very advisable to meet a doctor.
