How we choose to be free

Freedom on four cardinals

We want to be -
easternly free, like a bird,
flying on the back of the wind,
westernly unshackled
and having every right to peck sweet berries.

We agree that a woodpecker has a space in the sky,
and doves, and eagles are worthy brothers,

We permit that the northern wind,
be betrothed to all other winds,
to embrace the breeze from crannies of the south,
fugitives of the west and
trepid hopeful daffodils of the east.

We accept that we are beautiful beasts,
roaming on a sphere.
