Fly in the city
“Without food, houseflies survive only 2-3 days and they die” I heard X telling Blue. They both met in the park and they were getting along quite well. I was sitting on the bench a little distance away from both of them perhaps with a little feeling of envy. One thing, it's been a long time since I've seen Blue smile with a real friend. She's either doom scrolling or finding out about a celebrity trend, making videos or watching lip gloss tutorials. X kept bragging with science facts, celebrity gists and latest music obviously trying to impress Blue. He did well I must commend him, Blue was so fascinated that she lost track of time and I had to yell so much to inform her it was 4pm and we needed to get home. I saw him try to get Blue’s contact of course! not under my watch. I stood up furiously grabbed Blue’s right arm and pulled her. The guy was quite a coward he was quick to excuse himself and leave Blue to my mercy. I and Blue were room mates and we were same age - Twenty-two more reason she challenged me anytime I tried to boss her or tell her what to do.” X is not a really nice person for you” I muttered. Blue looked at me fiercely ready to release all the devil within her. “Cool off, girl” I said again trying to pacify her "he's even a coward look at how he quickly ran away” Blue sighed deeply and reached out for her phone in the back pocket of her Jeans, and played a rap music from her playlist while walking away towards the street not minding if I followed or not. “Blue, Wait up!"
6pm, we were home. I was the first to get in the shower. Blue sat in one of the dining chairs doom scrolling as usual. I made myself a quick dinner, Blue was going to order something for herself anyways. The next morning Saturday, at around 8am Blue was still sleeping so I decided to step out for a walk. Our neighbours were ushering in a new maid. He looked crude, simple, he was new to the city and technology.
