BEATS-ÌLÚ

English
He that beats the drums of garnished sorrow,
dares not sing of his crocodile tears,
and even if the people kiss their teeth in
well-fed anguish
the conceited king is still
drunken and boozed to stupor with laughter.

Yoruba
Alubàtá kìi d'árin
bi ìjòyè k'ígbe ofò
ti ará ìlú sin wo òsé
èrín kee ni oba òdájú rin
